Google Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL users have reported an unusual display issue, in which a flickering rectangular patch appears on the upper side of the display. Multiple users reported frequent flickers coming near the front-facing camera. The problem came to notice when multiple user forums in recent weeks, with several owners flagging the same problem on their devices.
As per the reports, the flicker typically shows up just below or beside the selfie camera cutout and is clearly visible on the lock screen and home screen. However, it seems to disappear when applications are opened. Some of the users have also mentioned restarting the device temporarily resolves the issue, but it tends to return after some time.
The glitch was discovered on the devices that are running on different software versions, including the recent updates and the beta builds. This means that it may not be limited to specific update. The report citing initial findings stated that there might be an issue with the proximity sensor located under the display.
The report also stated that the sensor is placed behind the small section of the screen, which can explain the visible flicker if the component malfunctions or behaves inconsistently. As of now, Google has not issued an official statement on the matter.
There is no permanent fix to it so far. You can temporarily fix the device by restarting it. However, a permanent fix is likely to depend on upcoming software updates. Stay tuned with Digit for the latest details about the Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL display issues.
