Following the launch of the flagship S25 series earlier this year, Samsung is now preparing to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. Both foldables are expected to launch with major upgrades over the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. While the details of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 remain unknown, the rumour mill has shed some light on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 specifications, indicating some significant changes that will make it more powerful and stylish.
Here’s everything we know so far about the Galaxy Z Fold 7, including its display, camera, and design, ahead of its release.
According to reports, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 will feature major camera improvements over its predecessor. The device may feature a 200MP primary shooter, similar to the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which is a significant upgrade from the Galaxy Z Fold 6’s 50MP camera. It may also feature a 12MP ultrawide sensor and a 10MP telephoto lens.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 will reportedly have a large 6.5-inch cover and an 8.2-inch internal display. Both displays are said to be AMOLED and have a 120Hz refresh rate. Again, this will be a significant improvement over the Galaxy Z Fold 6’s 6.3-inch outer and 7.6-inch internal displays.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is also expected to receive minor design changes. If the reports are to be believed, fans may see a slimmer foldable device with a thickness of around 3.9mm when unfolded and 8.9mm folded. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 has a thickness of 5.6mm when unfolded and 12.1mm when folded.
It is also expected to be the company’s strongest foldable device, with a long-lasting hinge, nearly crease-free display, and an improved IP58 or IP68 rating.
Samsung is expected to offer the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which will undoubtedly be more powerful than the Galaxy Z Fold 6. It may also get more RAM and storage. However, exact details are being kept under wraps.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to ship with Android 16 based One UI 8 out of the box. Additionally, it may offer a slightly bigger battery compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 6’s 4,400 mAh battery.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 are expected to launch in the first week of July at the Unpacked event. The exact pricing of the devices remains unknown.
