Samsung Galaxy 26 Ultra gets massive price drop on Flipkart deals
Samsung’s Galaxy S27 series is expected to debut in early 2027 and is shaping up to include a model the company has never offered before: a Galaxy S27 Pro. Multiple reports, including one from ETNews, claim a four-model lineup consisting of the Galaxy S27, S27+, S27 Pro and S27 Ultra. This is a departure from the three-tier standard, Plus, Ultra structure Samsung has maintained since the Galaxy S20 series in 2020.
It’s worth noting that you should take all of this with a pinch of salt. Similar reports about a Galaxy S26 Pro surfaced last year, and Samsung ultimately dismissed those claims, launching only the standard S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra. Whether the S27 Pro actually sees the light of day remains to be seen, though the sheer volume of leaks suggests this round of rumours may have more substance behind it.
According to industry sources, Samsung’s Mobile eXperience division has decided to expand its premium segment specifically to compete more directly with Apple’s four-model iPhone strategy, which splits its lineup into standard, Air, Pro and Pro Max tiers. One industry insider explained the thinking: “Previously, Ultra was the only high-end model. Now Samsung plans to add a Pro, expanding the premium segment to two models.”
More importantly, this is described as an expansion rather than a replacement because Samsung has tried something similar before. The Galaxy S25 Edge launched two months after the S25 series in 2025 with an emphasis on thinness and was originally intended to replace the Plus model in the S26 generation. Samsung reportedly reversed that plan after market feedback and returned to releasing the standard Plus model. The S27 Pro is being positioned as an addition to the lineup rather than a substitute for an existing model.
The Galaxy S27 Pro is said to be a smaller Ultra without the S Pen, sharing most of the Ultra’s premium technology while losing the stylus and shrinking the form factor. The most consistently leaked detail is the display size: a 6.47-inch screen, which would sit between the standard S27 and S27+ in terms of size, assuming those models retain screen sizes similar to their predecessors. The display specifications are tipped to include a Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with QHD+ resolution and a 1Hz to 120Hz variable refresh rate.
One of the more interesting carryover features is Privacy Display, the anti-peeping screen technology that debuted exclusively on the Galaxy S26 Ultra and prevents onlookers from viewing the screen at off angles. Multiple leaks, including one from tipster Digital Chat Station, suggest this feature will expand to the S27 Pro, making it the second model in the lineup to offer it.
This is where the leaks genuinely disagree with each other. Early reports suggested the S27 Pro would share its main and ultrawide cameras with the S27 Ultra except for a different telephoto lens, a claim later repeated by tipster Ice Universe. Specific numbers floated for the Pro include a 200MP primary sensor, a 50MP ultrawide and a 50MP telephoto offering 3.5x optical zoom, paired with a 12MP front camera.
One detail worth flagging is the rumoured telephoto system itself. Some reports describe the S27 Pro using an ALoP (Advanced Lens on Prism) telephoto setup, which is a new periscope design and has three claimed benefits: it captures more light for brighter images, improves zoom image quality and aligns lenses horizontally rather than vertically inside the device, freeing up internal space for larger sensors without making the phone thicker. If accurate, this could make the S27 Pro notably slim despite packing flagship-level camera hardware.
Another complication is that the Galaxy S27 Ultra itself is rumoured to drop to three rear cameras, one less than its predecessor, while using new sensors for its own main and ultrawide cameras. Whether the S27 Pro inherits those exact new sensors or uses a distinct telephoto module of its own is not yet settled across the various leaks, so this is one area worth treating with caution until clearer information emerges.
Under the hood, the S27 Pro is expected to run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset, paired with at least 12GB of RAM and a minimum of 256GB of storage. It is rumoured to ship with One UI 9.5 and receive seven years of software and security updates, in line with Samsung’s current update policy. Expected connectivity and durability features include an IP68 rating, stereo speakers, fast wireless charging and Samsung Pay support.
Battery capacity is one of the more surprising rumours. Despite its smaller footprint compared to the Ultra, the S27 Pro is tipped to pack a 5,000mAh battery, the same capacity expected on the Galaxy S27 Ultra and notably larger than the S26’s 4,300mAh and the S26+’s 4,900mAh cells. The reasoning given is that removing the S Pen and its housing frees up internal space that Samsung can redirect toward a bigger battery instead. The charging support is expected to top out at 45W wired and 20W wireless.
The Galaxy S27 series, including the S27 Pro if it does launch, is expected to debut in early 2027. As with all pre-launch leaks, specifications and even the existence of the Pro model itself should be treated as unconfirmed until Samsung holds an official event.
