Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra users spot mysterious red tint on displays, reports emerge online

HIGHLIGHTS

Some Galaxy S26 Ultra users have reported a red or pink display tint.

The issue has appeared online, but it does not affect all devices.

Samsung has not confirmed the problem or its cause.

Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S26 Ultra is reportedly facing a new display related issue. Many social media users have claimed that their phone screens are gradually developing a red or pink tint over time. While the company has not acknowledged the problem, complaints have surfaced across Reddit, Samsung community forums and South Korean social platform Naver. The reports mentioned that this issue comes after a few months of usage, though it does not seem to affect every unit.

Users claim red tint appears after months of use

As per several user reports, the discolouration starts in the centre of the display before becoming more noticeable over time. Some users even stated that the red tones on their phones appear washed out even with the display set to highest resolution and Vivid colour profile enabled.

One user on Naver reportedly compared a newly manufactured Galaxy S26 Ultra with an in-store demo unit and observed that the display model showed a much stronger reddish tint. Based on the comparison, the user speculated that the issue may become more visible after three to four months of use.

The users have also described the phenomenon as resembling an afterimage rather than traditional screen burn-in, as the tint reportedly appears in a similar rectangular pattern across affected devices.

Even after growing discussions, many Galaxy S26 Ultra users have also said that their devices continue to work properly without any display discolouration. Some Reddit users have also suggested that the tint is subtle enough that it may be difficult to notice unless compared with another device.

What caused it?

The internet has come up with many theories. One theory is that the adhesive beneath the display is curing, while others believe it is due to a manufacturing issue. However, none of these explanations have been verified. It should be noted that Samsung has not issued an official statement on the red tint issue, and nothing has been confirmed as yet.
