When Samsung launched the Galaxy S25 Edge, many people complained about its underwhelming 3,900mAh battery. It felt outdated in 2025, especially in a premium device. But it seems like Samsung has taken the criticism seriously and is reportedly working on improving the battery health of the next Edge smartphone. Based on recent leaks, the Galaxy S26 Edge could get a 500mAh jump from its predecessor.

The handset is expected to replace the Plus model in the Galaxy S26 series, likely to launch next year in January. Here’s what we know about the Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge battery (Leaked)

A new leak on Weibo (Chinese social media platform) suggests that the upcoming Galaxy S26 Edge could pack a 4,400mAh battery, a massive upgrade from the Galaxy S25 Edge’s. Notably, the S25 Edge’s sleek, ultra-thin design came at the cost of battery life.

Meanwhile, Samsung is reportedly planning to drop the vanilla Galaxy S26 model and introduce a new Pro model. Though there is no official confirmation on this, internal references within One UI 8 firmware suggest that Samsung may be ditching the standard “Galaxy S26” model altogether. Additionally, the device is tipped to pack a 4,300mAh battery, a notable upgrade from its predecessor’s 4,000mAh capacity and carry the model number SM-S942.
