Yesterday, at the Galaxy Unpacked Event 2025, Samsung unveiled its latest flagship- the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. After the launch, a lot of fans were left disappointed as the event didn’t have anything unique to offer. Even the Galaxy S25 Ultra hasn’t upgraded too much over last year’s Galaxy S24 Ultra. But the prices have increased over last year. Let’s quickly compare both of these phones to see what has changed and what new the Galaxy S25 Ultra has to offer.
Before I compare their specifications side-to-side, let’s see the changes in design first. This year, the Galaxy S25 Ultra has said goodbye to the curved edges that we saw on the Galaxy S24 Ultra and has opted for flat edges. The Galaxy S25 Ultra, which weighs 218g, is lighter than the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s 232g. It is even thinner compared to its predecessor. In addition to that, both phones feature titanium frames. The

On the display front, not a lot has changed. Both the Galaxy S25 Ultra and the Galaxy S24 Ultra feature a 6.9-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz refresh rate. However, the S25 Ultra introduces ProScaler technology. With this Samsung claims that the image and video sharpness increases by 40%.
This year’s Galaxy S25 Ultra features the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset. It claims to offer a 40% NPU, 37% CPU, and 30% GPU performance increase over the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy. This leap enhances on-device AI capabilities, including support for Generative Edit and improved low-light processing.
On the camera front, the Galaxy S25 Ultra has upgraded the ultra-wide camera to 50-megapixel from the 12-megapixel one on Galaxy S24 Ultra and features a 50MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom. It retains the 200MP main sensor but introduces 10-bit HDR video recording by default and the new Audio Eraser feature for noise removal.
Both the phones have a 5,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra starts at Rs 1,29,999, while the S24 Ultra is currently priced at Rs 1,21,999 for the base variant. However, it was launched last year at a starting price of Rs 1,34,999.
