Samsung Galaxy M47 5G complete features and expected price know ahead of launch
Samsung has launched the Galaxy M47 5G in India which marks the return of the Galaxy M4x series to India seven years after the Galaxy M40 launch in 2019. The Galaxy M47 expands Samsung’s mid-range M-series lineup which has historically focused on users who prioritise battery life, gaming, performance and long-term software support. Here’s everything you need to know about the Galaxy M47 including its specifications, features, price and availability.
The Galaxy M47 features a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1,400 nits peak brightness, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+.
The M47 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, built on a 4nm process, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage for quicker data access and reduced stuttering during multitasking. For gaming, Samsung has included bypass charging, which routes power directly from the charger to the processor while plugged in rather than cycling it through the battery, reducing heat buildup and helping maintain stable frame rates during extended sessions.
The standout spec is the 6,000mAh battery, a notably large capacity for this price bracket, supporting 45W fast charging (the charging brick is sold separately).
The rear camera system is led by a 50MP primary sensor with OIS, accompanied by a 5Mp ultrawide camera and a 2MP macro lens. The setup supports 4K video recording and includes Samsung’s Nightography processing for low-light shots. A 12MP front camera handles selfies with HDR support for backlit conditions.
The phone ships with Android 16 and One UI 8.5 and Samsung is offering six generations of Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates, among the longest support commitments available in this segment. Some of the key AI features include Circle to Search, Google Gemini integration, Object Eraser, Edit Suggestion and My Filter, alongside Samsung Wallet for contactless payments and Knox Vault for hardware-backed security.
The Galaxy M47 5G starts at an effective price of Rs 22,999, inclusive of a coupon offer and bank discount. Detailed variant-wise pricing has not been published yet. The phone is available in Rogue Red, which has a matte-textured finish and Blaze Blue and will go on sale via Amazon starting 4 July, coinciding with the Amazon Prime Day sale.
