Samsung Tri Fold
During its recent Galaxy Unpacked event, along with the Galaxy S25 series, Samsung also hinted at the fact that a tri-fold smartphone was under the works. The tri-fold smartphone from the South Korean tech giant can be called the Samsung Galaxy G Fold, according to rumours. Even though the company refrained from sharing any details about the smartphone it is expected to debut early next year, according to new leaks. The smartphone will compete directly with Huawei’s triple-screen foldable.
According to a new leak from tipster Yeux1122 on the South Korean blog, Naver suggests that the device will debut in January 2026. This timeline coincides with the timeline for Samsung’s flagship S series launch. So we can expect the tri-fold smartphone to drop at the same event.
The Galaxy G Fold is expected to feature a 9.96-inch primary display. When folded, the device is said to measure 6.54 inches. Unlike Huawei’s Mate XT Ultimate Design, which folds outward, Samsung’s tri-fold device will reportedly fold inward from both sides, which is said to offer better screen protection and durability.
Further, Samsung is rumored to use newly developed displays and protective films. Leaks also suggest that the Galaxy G Fold may be slightly thicker than Huawei’s tri-fold model.
Reports also suggest that Samsung plans to manufacture only around 300,000 units or fewer. This will make the Galaxy G Fold a highly exclusive device with a premium price tag.
With Huawei, and now Samsung, the coming year can turn out to be a pivotal year for foldable smartphones. For now, let’s take the information at hand with a pinch of salt as the company hasn’t officially shared anything. We will keep you posted!
