Xiaomi is reportedly gearing up to bring two new devices to India, which can be the Redmi Note 17 and Poco M8 Plus. A recent leak suggests that the devices appeared on the BIS certification website recently. While Xiaomi has not officially confirmed anything about the listing, the reports suggest that the listed model numbers belong to the Redmi Note 17 and Poco M8 Plus. The Redmi Note 17 series is also expected to debut in China this month, and the current listing just adds on to that excitement. Though most of the details about the smartphones remain under wraps, leaks reveal that they may offer OLED displays with powerful Snapdragon processors and huge batteries. Reports suggest that it could be for the Redmi Note 17 and Poco M8 Plus, respectively. The Redmi Note 17 series will debut in China this month, and the current BIS listings suggest that the smartphone may soon land in the Indian markets as well.
The Redmi Note 17 is anticipated to come equipped with a 6.83-inch flat 1.5K OLED panel with a 144Hz refresh rate. It’s also rumoured that the smartphone may draw its power from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset.
On the battery front, the leaks are contradictory, as some suggest that it could land with a 9,000mAh battery, while others suggest that the smartphone could feature a 10,000mAh silicon-carbon battery. However, it’s said to be paired with 67W fast charging.
In terms of optics, the device could land with up to a 50MP primary rear sensor alongside an 8MP ultra-wide lens. At the front the smartphone may boast a 32MP camera for selfies and video calls.

The Poco M8 Plus is also expected to feature similar specs to the Redmi Note 17, as it’s rumoured that the device will house a 6.83-inch flat OLED panel. It’s also reported that it will be clubbed with a 144Hz refresh rate and 1.5K resolution.
Rumours suggest that the handset may be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 octa-core processor or the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset. Along with that, the leaks point to the smartphone possibly housing a massive 9,000mAh battery supported by 67W of fast charging.
For the photography enthusiasts, the Poco M8 Plus might feature a 50MP primary camera and an 8MP ultra-wide lens. For selfies and video calls, it can also come packed with a 32MP front camera.

The Redmi Note 17 and Poco M8 Plus are expected to launch in India towards the end of 2026 or early 2027. Early reports suggest the Redmi Note 17 may cost around Rs 21,999, while the Poco M8 Plus could be priced at about Rs 15,999.
