Opera Mobile 10 now available for the desktop!

Updated on 22-Apr-2010

Web development for mobile just got a whole lot easier.

Opera Software has released a version of the Opera Mobile browser for desktop platforms, allowing web developers get a feel for their web sites and web applications without needing to load it on a mobile system.

The browser is available for Windows, Mac OS and Linux. The emulator bundle includes the Opera Mobile emulator and includes many different profiles for different screen sizes (QVGA, VGA, WVGA, HVGA) with different orientations (landscape, portrait), and with keypad or touch screen support. Websites running on the browser can also be debugged using Opera DragonFly tools.

While this lets you emulate how websites work on Opera Mobile 10, it itself is a native application.

The package also includes Opera’s WIdget Manager emulator with which you can test how your widgets will look once deployed to mobiles with the Opera Widget manager installed.
