The upcoming OnePlus phone is tipped to feature a huge 9,000mAh battery with 80W fast wired charging.

It is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, targeting the upper mid-range segment.

Leaks suggest a 165Hz 1.5K display, though OnePlus has not officially confirmed any details yet.

OnePlus appears to be working on a new smartphone after launching the OnePlus 15R in global markets. According to recent leaks, the Chinese smartphone company is developing a new device codenamed Volkswagen. According to tipster Abhishek Yadav, the final marketing name remains unknown, but the codename suggests a mass appeal positioning rather than an ultra-premium device.

The tipster further added that the phone will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor, which is designed for the upper mid-range segment and has architectural similarities to the older Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. OnePlus may prioritise battery life and performance in this model, it seems.

According to the leaks, the device may have a massive 9,000mAh battery and 80W fast wired charging, giving it a competitive advantage in the segment. If this is true, it will be OnePlus’s largest battery to date.

“An upcoming OnePlus smartphone for the global and Indian markets, codenamed ‘Volkswagen’, will feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset. The device packs a massive 9,000mAh battery with 80W wired fast charging support,” he stated in a post on X.

However, it is unclear whether the panel will match the model exactly. Take note that the company has not yet officially confirmed the details.

If the leaks are true, OnePlus could release the device early next year. Details, however, are being kept under wraps. It seems that OnePlus has made a strategic move to capture the space by introducing the OnePlus 15 and 15R, while Samsung has held its Galaxy S26 series for later in the year. The reports state
