OnePlus is preparing to launch its new flagship smartphone, and recent leaks say the upcoming OnePlus 16 may come with better cameras, a bigger battery, an improved display, and faster performance. The new details come at a time when speculation around OnePlus’ future has remained active after reports claimed the brand could merge operations with Realme under Oppo’s larger ecosystem. Despite the uncertainty, leaks related to upcoming OnePlus devices continue to surface regularly. The latest information points toward a premium flagship aimed at users who want longer battery life, stronger zoom photography, and smoother display performance. If the rumours turn out to be accurate, the OnePlus 16 may become one of the brand’s most ambitious smartphones yet.
According to recent leaks shared by tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the OnePlus 16 could run on Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro processor. Furthermore, it’s anticipated that the chipset will offer clock speeds of up to 5GHz.
Aside from that, the smartphone is also tipped to feature a 6.78-inch flat BOE X5 OLED display. Reports also suggested that OnePlus might be testing refresh rates that go up to 240Hz, although it still remains unclear whether the final device will fully support it.

The device is also said to come packed with up to 16GB of LPDDR6 RAM and a UFS 4.1 internal storage that goes up to 1TB. In terms of juice, the handset is said to house a 9,000mAh battery that may support 150W of wired charging and 50W wireless charging support.
The OnePlus 16 will most likely run on Oxygen OS, which is an Android 16-based skin. It may also bag IP69 certifications, ensuring that the smartphone is protected against dust and water. Rumours also suggest that it may sport an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and WiFi 7.
For the photography enthusiasts, the smartphone may come equipped with a triple camera setup at the rear end, including a 200MP main sensor, a 200MP periscope telephoto sensor and a 50MP ultrawide lens. It would also come packed with a 50MP front-facing camera that would be perfect for selfies and video calls.

While there is no official announcement yet, if OnePlus follows its past launch patterns, then the smartphone could launch in the fourth quarter of the year 2026. Early reports also suggest that the smartphone could land in the Indian markets with a price tag of Rs 80,000 due to the ongoing shortage of RAM in the global market.
