OnePlus 13 5g
After the iPhone 17 series launch, OnePlus is now preparing to introduce its next-generation flagship, the OnePlus 15. While we don’t know much about the upcoming flagship, one thing is certain: OnePlus has ended its partnership with Hasselblad. This means we could see a new camera setup as well as improved specifications. Rumours suggest that OnePlus may introduce Detail MaxEngine for the camera.
Li Jie Louis, President of OnePlus China, hinted on Weibo that the OnePlus 15 will go beyond the standard 120Hz refresh rate that currently dominates flagship devices. According to reports, the device will feature a 165Hz display, which represents a significant upgrade over previous generations. The OnePlus 13 features a 120Hz refresh rate panel.
We’ve already seen a few gaming phones, such as the ASUS ROG Phone, with refresh rates of 165Hz and even 185Hz, and OnePlus’ entry could reshape the flagship segment, where a variable 120Hz refresh rate is considered standard.
The timing of the announcement is notable because it comes just after Apple unveiled its iPhone 17 lineup, and for the first time, the entry-level iPhone now has a 120Hz ProMotion display with always-on functionality, closing a gap where Android brands have long led.
The OnePlus 15 could launch in October in China and is said to make its way to the Indian retail shelves in January next year. However, the details are not confirmed at the moment.
The leaks suggest that the device could debut with a 6.78-inch flat LTPO OLED with a 165Hz refresh rate and will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset. The device may run on Android 16 out of the box and ship with a 7,000 mAh battery.
The device is said to feature a 50MP main, 50MP ultrawide, and 50MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom.
