Lenovo launches 5.5-inch K3 Note smartphone for $145

Lenovo K3 Note launched, features a 5.5 inch display, octa-core processor and runs Android 4.4.

Lenovo has unveiled its latest device the K3 Note at an event on 23rd March in China. The Lenovo K3 Note is a mid-range device priced at $145 (Rs. 9,020 approx) and is part of the company's value for money Lemon lineup.  

The Lenovo K3 Note phablet has a unique design with the company’s logo engraved inside a large circular ring at the back. The speakers are located on the upper back of the smartphone instead of the traditional bottom placement. The phablet has a 5.5-inch Full HD display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and 401 ppi pixel density.

The K3 Note phablet has an octa-core 1.7 GHz processor and runs on Android 4.4 upgradeable to Android 5.0. It has 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage, expandable up to 32 GB via microSD card slot. It has a 13 MP rear camera, coupled with a dual-tone LED flash and a 5 MP front camera. The smartphone supports dual-SIM with dual standby. Other connectivity options included are WiFi, Bluetooth, USB, 4G LTE and GPRS. The smartphone is available in a bright yellow color.

The phablet is backed by a 3,000 mAh battery which according to company claims, lasts a whole day. Lenovo has released the K3 Note in China at a price tag of $145 and will compete with Meizu M1 Note, HTC desire 626 and Asus ZenFone 2 smartphones. Lenovo has not clarified whether the smartphone will be launched in other emerging markets.

Lenovo was expected to launch its next flagship Vibe Z3 Pro at the March 23 event, but the device still remains elusive. According to reports the Vibe Z3 Pro will have a 5.5 inch display with 1440 x 2560 pixels (~534 ppi pixel density) resolution. It will have a Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor and run on Android v5.0.2 (Lollipop) OS.
