Apple is reportedly gearing up to launch its first foldable device this year. While the company has yet to reveal any official details, a steady stream of leaks is beginning to paint a clearer picture of what to expect. According to a new claim from a well-known Weibo tipster, Apple may finally push past its usual limits, at least when it comes to battery capacity. If the tip is accurate, then the upcoming iPhone Fold could feature the largest battery ever used in an iPhone. Meanwhile, rumours surrounding the device’s design have also been circulating for some time. Here’s a closer look at how Apple’s first foldable iPhone could take shape.

Apple iPhone Fold: Battery (Tipped)

According to the latest leak, the foldable iPhone could feature a battery larger than 5,500mAh. This would clearly surpass the current record held by the iPhone 17 Pro Max, which packs a 5,088mAh battery.

When compared to existing foldable devices on the market, Google’s Pixel 10 Pro Fold is said to use a 5,015mAh battery, while Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 reportedly comes with a 4,400mAh unit.

Earlier reports also claimed that Apple tested batteries ranging between 5,400 and 5,800mAh. Along with size, Apple is believed to be using high-density battery cells previously mentioned by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo to ensure longer usage without making the phone bulky.

Reports suggest Apple may use titanium as the prime material to make the body of its upcoming foldable iPhone. However, there is no news around if the whole body will be built with titanium or a mix of other metals like stainless steel or aluminium to provide sturdiness.

Apple iPhone Fold: Specs (Expected)

Reports indicate that Apple’s foldable iPhone could be equipped with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and feature the company’s new C2 modem. On the display front, the device is rumoured to use a dual ProMotion setup.

The outer screen is expected to be around 5.5 inches, while the internal display may expand to approximately 7.8 inches when unfolded. In terms of design, the handset is said to measure about 9–9.5 mm in thickness when folded, slimming down to roughly 4.5–4.8 mm once opened.

Talking about the camera, the leaks suggest that the upcoming foldable from iPhone could launch with a dual 48MP lens at the rear along with an 18MP lens at the front on both the screens. Apart from that, reports also suggest that Apple may reintroduce Touch ID with the iPhone Fold.
