Apple is just a few weeks away from launching its next-generation iPhones —the iPhone 17 series. Following its usual trend, the tech giant is expected to unveil four models; however, the Plus-sized model will reportedly be replaced by a new ‘Air’ model. Touted as iPhone 17 Air, the handset is said to be the slimmest iPhone ever introduced by the company. The device is said to take on the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge that launched a few months back. While the phone’s slim form factor is grabbing eyeballs, the iPhone 17 Air could be tipped to make some compromises, including battery.
Here’s everything we know so far about the upcoming iPhone 17 Air.
A Weibo user has tipped that the battery capacity of Apple’s rumoured iPhone 17 Air will be below the 3,000 mAh mark. This also coincides with a previous report that suggested iPhone 17 Air’s battery capacity is around 2,800 mAh.
However, iOS 26’s new Adaptive Power Mode is said to make the iPhone 17 Air’s battery life last for a day. Additionally, Apple is also rumoured to release an additional battery case to deal with the poor battery life of the handset. To recall, the iPhone 11 lineup was the last to come with battery cases.

The iPhone 17 Air could come equipped with a 6.9-inch LTPO Super Retina XDR OLED display paired with a 120Hz refresh rate. The handset is said to pack the Apple A19 processor, paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage in the base variant.
In terms of optics, the device will feature a single 48MP rear camera capable of capturing in various lighting conditions, and a 24MP selfie snapper on the front.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the popular Apple analyst, has recently said that the iPhone 17 Air, alongside the other phones from the series, will make a global as well as Indian debut on either September 8 or September 9, 2025.
iPhone 17 Air is tipped to be priced around Rs 99,900 in India. However, there is no confirmation regarding the pricing on an official basis.
