HP unveils Hurricane project: a webOS tablet due early 2011

Updated on 11-Aug-2010

Our comment worthy friend Todd Bradley, VP of Personal Systems Group at HP, has revealed another nugget of information, albeit internally. He confirmed the Hurricane project, the development of a webOS tablet. So while HP will be making enterprise-grade Windows 7 tablets and Android Zeen e-reader tablets for consumers, it will be using its newly aquired and third operating system, webOS, for tablet PCs that now definitely seem to be of the mainstream, media-consuming, iPad-competition variety.

Todd added the Hurricane project should see a webOS tablet out and set to devastate by Q1 2011. HP certainly seems to be getting its hands full of operating systems, and if they can handle the weight, might actually be able to improve webOS dramatically and comprehensively, with lessons from Windows 7 and Android.
