Google Pixel 9a, the highly anticipated affordable variant of the Pixel 9 series, is set to make its global debut in the second half of this month. The Pixel 9a is expected to feature significant design, performance, and hardware improvements over the Pixel 8a. While the company has not yet confirmed the launch date, a popular tipster has revealed the global and India launch dates for the Pixel 9a. Here’s everything we know about the Pixel 9a’s release date, pricing, specifications, and design.
According to tipster Yogesh Brar, the Pixel 9a will make its global debut on March 19 followed by India’s debut on March 20. Taking to X, the tipster wrote, “Google Pixel 9A global launch set for March 19th (India release on 20th). Another year of exorbitant pricing.”

It is worth noting that the exact launch date remains under wraps and is expected to be announced anytime soon.
According to the reports, the Pixel 9a is expected to ditch the camera bump and may come with a flat rear pane. Additionally, the device may come with more vibrant colours like Pink.
The Pixel 9a may debut with a big 6.28-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with HDR10+ support. The device is expected to get a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 2,700 nits. The device may see a performance upgrade and may house a Google Tensor G4 chipset coupled with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. It may get a 5,100 mAh battery and get IP68 certification for dust and water resistance.
Speaking of the camera, the smartphone is expected to debut with a 48MP primary sensor and 13MP ultrawide sensor. It may get a 13MP front-facing camera for video calls and selfies.
According to the latest reports, the Google Pixel 9a is expected to be priced at around Rs 52,999 for the base variant and over Rs 62,000 for the top-end variant. Do note that these are not the official prices and we will have to wait for the launch to get more detailed information about the device.
