Delhi Airport Metro Express line gets improved mobile connectivity

Passengers travelling on Delhi’s Airport Metro line will now enjoy uninterrupted mobile connectivity. Reliance Infrastructure, which manages the Airport Metro Express line, has revealed that major operators such as Airtel, Vodafone, Idea and Aircel have installed their base transceivers at all the stations of the Express line.

So far, only Reliance customers were able to use their phones on the 23-km corridor, it’s learnt. A Reliance spokesperson says, the telecom infrastructure at Airport Metro Express line was set up by Reliance. “A complete bouquet of RCom, Vodafone, Airtel, Idea and Aircel services will now be available at our stations and inside the train for the benefit of commuters,” the spokesperson said.

Reliance already provides Wi-Fi connectivity at all the stations on Delhi Metro Express line. The company believes the uninterrupted mobile phone connectivity along with hi-speed Wi-Fi access will add to the comfort of the commuters.

Network outage and call drops are some of the common problems faced by Metro commuters. Availability of the interrupted mobile connectivity of Express Line is definitely a welcome move, as it going to benefit hundreds of commuters. However, it will be better similar facilities are made available on other Delhi Metro lines, especially the underground line, as well.
