Asus Zenfone 5 with 1.2 GHz SoC, 8GB storage available at Rs. 7,999

Asus ZenFone 5 (A501CG-2B509WWE) launched, features 8GB internal memory and 1.2 GHz dual-core processor.

Asus has launched a new variant of the ZenFone 5 in India. The new variant has been priced at Rs 7,999 and is available via Flipkart.com.

The new Asus ZenFone 5 8GB variant has a 5 inch IPS display with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. It has a dual-core 1.2 GHz Intel Atom Z2520 processor with Intel Hyper Threading technology, the earlier version featured 1.6GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2560 processor.  The smartphone has 2 GB of RAM and 8 GB of built-in storage expandable up to 64 GB via microSD card slot. It has an 8 MP rear camera and a 2 MP front camera. The ZenFone 5 A501CG-2B509WWE packs a 2110 mAh battery and runs  Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with the Asus ZenUI on top. The smartphone is available in Black and White color variants.

This is the fourth Asus ZenFone 5 model launched in India. Earlier the company has launched the ZenFone 5 (A501CG), ZenFone 5 (A500CG), and ZenFone 5 (A502CG) all with slightly different specifications and within the price range of Rs 7,999 to Rs 9,999.

Earlier this month, Asus had announced a price cut of its ZenFone 5 16 GB model from Rs 12,999 to Rs. 9,999 in India. The Asus ZenFone 5 smartphone competes with other budget devices including the Motorola Moto E, Moto G (Gen 1), Xiaomi Redmi 1S, Microsoft Lumia 535, Lumia 638, Micromax Canvas Turbo among others in the sub 10k segment.
