iPhone 16
Apple’s next-generation flagship smartphone line-up, the iPhone 17 series, is reportedly set to be unveiled on September 9, according to a new report by German publication iPhone-ticker.de. Citing local mobile network providers, the report claims that Apple’s upcoming event will stick to the company’s usual early-September launch window.
The iPhone 17 series is expected to feature four models – the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. If the leak is believed to be true, pre-orders could begin on September 12, with deliveries and in-store availability starting from September 19.
Though Apple has yet to officially confirm the event date, the leaked details align with Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman’s statement, who predicted a launch window between September 8 and 12.
The new lineup is expected to boast upgraded internals. The base iPhone 17 and 17 Air are rumoured to run on the A19 chip, while the higher-end Pro models could be equipped with the more powerful A19 Pro chipset. In terms of display, the iPhone 17 and 17 Pro may have 6.3-inch displays, the 17 Air a 6.5-inch screen, and the Pro Max a 6.9-inch panel.
For build quality, Apple is expected to use aluminium frames for the iPhone 17, 17 Air, and 17 Pro, while the iPhone 17 Pro Max could retain a titanium body, similar to its predecessor.

A modest price hike is expected this year, with all models, except the base iPhone 17, likely to cost around $50 (Rs 4,000) pricier than their iPhone 16 counterparts. The iPhone 17 is expected to launch in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs 84,500 for 128GB, whereas iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max could come with a price tag of around Rs 1,45,000 and Rs 1,64,990, respectively.
