Apple’s annual developer conference, WWDC 2025, is only a few days away, and excitement for iOS 19 has already begun to build. From a visual overhaul to AI-powered features and smarter device syncing, iOS 19 or iOS 26 isn’t just another update; it’s likely to be a more cohesive and intelligent Apple ecosystem. Additionally, the tech behemoth is expected to release iPadOS 19, macOS 16, tvOS 19, and visionOS 2.
For the uninitiated, Apple’s WWDC 2025 will be held from June 9 to June 13. Here’s what we know about the upcoming iOS 19 update.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, iOS 19 or iOS 26 could be the “biggest revamp” since iOS 7. It is likely to include redesigned icons, menus, buttons, and interface elements modelled after VisionOS. The update is expected to include floating navigation bars, new font treatments, and simplified control layouts.
With the iOS 19 update, the Camera app is expected to get a major makeover with a sleek redesign inspired by VisionOS. Significant improvements are expected, including simplified toggles for switching between photo and video modes as well as easier access to settings such as flash, filters, and frame rates.
Siri is finally getting some significant improvements in iOS 19. Apple is integrating AI to improve the reliability of its voice assistant. However, a ChatGPT-style, fully conversational Siri is still in development and will not be unveiled at WWDC 2025.
Another major upgrade is the Apple Intelligence-powered battery saver that will work in the background to extend your battery life by identifying users’ habits. The unused apps will also be automatically closed. Additionally, iOS 19 is likely to add a battery charging time indicator on the lock screen.
