Apple is going to introduce the iPhone 18 Pro series this fall and leaks of the iPhone 18 Pro Max have already begun to surface online. We have already heard about the new colour options, better display and the variable camera setup. The leaks also point to a larger battery pack and an in-house modem, making it a better package than the iPhone 17 Pro Max. So, here are the 5 biggest changes we are expecting from the device.
Apple iPhone Pro models are known for their camera and performance capabilities. And as an upgrade, the iPhone 18 Pro Max may get a new 48MP primary camera featuring a variable aperture system. This may allow the lens to adjust the amount of light entering the sensor and let users capture better photos in different lighting.
Apple may also reduce the size of the Dynamic Island cutout. As per the reports, iPhone 18 Pro Max is also expected to retain a large 6.9-inch LTPO display but with a smaller dynamic island. With this, Apple may also introduce under-body Face ID. However, the details are not yet confirmed.
The smartphone is expected to feature A20 Pro processor, reportedly built using TSMC’s advanced 2nm process. The processor is said to be faster and offer better power efficiency. It may also offer better support for on-device artificial intelligence features. Reports also indicate that the Pro Max model could come with 12GB of RAM.
The latest reports also suggest that the iPhone 18 Pro Max may get a bigger battery. Apple could equip the device with a battery exceeding 5,100mAh, making it one of the largest ever used in an iPhone. There is no word about the charging speeds and other aspects.
Apple is reportedly working on its in-house C2 modem. This may improve connectivity, power efficiency and satellite communication features. Design leaks also point to a cleaner rear camera layout and new colour options, including blue, burgundy and dark grey. As always, these details remain unofficial until Apple confirms them.
