Apple has just announced iOS 26, featuring a new redesigned Liquid Retina UI and a range of new features set to arrive with the next-generation iPhone 17 series. The lineup is likely to comprise the standard iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. While the handsets are expected to debut in early September 2025, they are already creating buzz months before launch.
A new report from Counterpoint Research suggests that Apple might increase prices for its upcoming iPhone 17 series in the US due to the surge in tariff charges. Although the company has maintained relatively consistent pricing in recent years, this trend could change this year. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max.
Based on reports, Apple may unveil the iPhone 17 series between September 11 and 13, 2025.
Following the trends of the past few years, this year too, Apple is expected to maintain the starting price for its entry-level iPhones. This also coincides with previous reports that suggest that the iPhone 17 could start at Rs 89,900 and the Air at Rs 99,900. The Pro and Pro Max could be priced at Rs 1,39,900 and Rs 1,64,900, respectively. However, these are just speculations, and nothing has been confirmed yet. There could be a possibility that the iPhone’s prices may see an upward revision.
In terms of design, the standard iPhone 17 will likely resemble its predecessor, the iPhone 16, with the USB-C port and the Action Button. However, the Pro variants are tipped to sport a sleeker look with a redesigned Pixel phone-like rectangular camera island that spans the back. Additionally, rumours suggest that there will be no Plus model this year. Instead, the brand may introduce a new iPhone 17 Air model.
Additionally, the non-Pro iPhone 17 and 17 Air could arrive in Ultramarine, Teal, Black, Pink, and White colour options, whereas the Pro and Pro Max models could come in Black, Silver, White, and a new Sky Blue colourway.
All four iPhones are rumoured to sport OLED displays with enhanced brightness and 120Hz ProMotion technology. The iPhone 17 and the iPhone 17 Air are likely to run on the A19 chip in the iPhone 17 Air, while the Pro versions are likely to pack the A19 Pro chipset.
In terms of cameras, all iPhone 17 models may house an upgraded 24MP sensor. On the rear panel, the new iPhone 17 Air could feature a single 48MP rear shooter, while the iPhone 17 could get a dual camera setup. The Pro models are rumoured to ship with a triple-lens 48MP setup with up to 8K video and 7x zoom.
