Stranger Things has officially entered its final chapter on Netflix, but the story of Hawkins is far from over. Minecraft has teamed up with the iconic series for a brand-new Stranger Things DLC that lets players dive headfirst into Demogorgons, bike rides, secret labs, and the creeping horror of the Upside Down. Available now on the Minecraft Marketplace, the DLC transforms the blocky sandbox into a narrative-driven adventure that spans all four seasons of the show. From nostalgic 1980s vibes to supernatural showdowns, this crossover is designed to let fans relive the most unforgettable moments of Stranger Things, one pixelated mystery at a time.

The Stranger Things DLC turns Minecraft into a fully realised open-world version of Hawkins, Indiana. Each season of the show is transformed into its own quest line, allowing players to move through the story chronologically while uncovering secrets, battling monsters, and solving puzzles with the gang. You start in a colourful, carefree version of 1980s Hawkins filled with arcades, walkie-talkies, and basement hangouts, before the tone gradually darkens as the Upside Down begins to bleed into the real world.
Iconic locations play a major role throughout the experience. Players can search for Eleven in the forest, investigate Starcourt Mall with the Scoop Troop, descend into the eerie Russian Lab, and confront the horrors lurking beyond reality. Familiar threats like Demogorgons, the Mind Flayer, and Vecna make their appearances, recreated in Minecraft’s distinct blocky style without losing their menace. As you complete quests, the town itself evolves, unlocking new areas, challenges, and story beats.
One of the biggest highlights of the Stranger Things DLC is its playable cast. Players can step into the shoes of several beloved characters, each with abilities that reflect their role in the series. Eleven brings telekinetic powers into combat, Eddie lets you lean into the Hellfire Club energy, Suzie helps crack complex codes, and Dr. Brenner grants access to restricted lab systems. For those feeling brave, even Vecna is playable, complete with mind-bending abilities that change how you approach certain encounters.
The DLC encourages teamwork, both through AI companions like Mike, Dustin, Lucas, and Will, and through multiplayer support that lets friends join the adventure. There is also a limited-time Hellfire Club T-shirt cosmetic available for free through the Character Creator, adding a nice bonus for fans. While the DLC is not available on Nintendo Switch and requires decent hardware on mobile, it promises a surprisingly deep experience elsewhere.
