Updated on 29-Jun-2025
HIGHLIGHTS

PS5 Digital Edition now costs €499.99 in Europe and £429.99 in the UK.

Prices remain unchanged for PS5 Pro models and standard editions in some regions.

Sony has reduced the price of the PS5 disc drive and hiked PlayStation Plus rates in over 20 countries.

Sony has announced a price increase for the PlayStation 5 aka PS5 console in select markets, including Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Australia, and New Zealand. Taking to a blog, the company cited a difficult economic environment marked by high inflation and constantly fluctuating exchange rates. The company also stated that the updated prices will take effect on Monday (April 14). This price increase comes just after the United States imposed new tariffs on imports under Donald Trump’s leadership.

Sony PS5 India price to be hiked soon?

It’s worth noting that Sony hasn’t announced any changes to PS5 pricing in India and the US. However, new tariffs and other challenges may result in price increases in the coming months, added the reports.

In the meantime, Sony has increased the cost of the PlayStation Plus subscription service in more than 20 nations. After users’ subsequent billing cycle following June 24, the new prices will take effect. Any membership modifications made on or after April 16 will, however, be reflected in the updated rates.
