Sony has officially launched Ghost of Yotei, its highly anticipated PlayStation 5 exclusive, in India. The game went on sale with a midnight launch at PlayStation stores in Delhi on October 2, drawing fans eager to experience the spiritual successor to Ghost of Tsushima. Alongside the release, Sony confirmed a substantial day-one patch (Version 1.006) that brings crucial fixes and performance upgrades to ensure players have a smoother experience right from the start.
Ghost of Yotei has launched in two versions in India – the Standard Edition is priced at Rs 4,999, while the Digital Deluxe Edition comes in slightly higher at Rs 5,599. The game is available both online and offline.
The launch event was held at select PlayStation stores in Delhi at midnight, where early adopters lined up to collect physical copies of the samurai adventure. The atmosphere reflected Sony’s efforts to build momentum around the title, which has been touted as one of the biggest PS5 exclusives of the year.
Ghost of Yotei arrives as the direct follow-up to Ghost of Tsushima, a critically acclaimed action-adventure that became a bestseller for the PS4. Expectations for this release have been high, with reviews describing it as a visually stunning open-world game that leans on refined combat and cinematic storytelling.
Even before fans set foot in Yotei’s snowy landscapes, Sony made it clear that the Version 1.006 update is essential. The day-one patch fixes a wide range of issues, from technical glitches to gameplay balance. Performance improvements include more consistent lighting in ray tracing mode, better rendering during missions with high character counts, and reduced crash instances when idling or loading saves.
Gameplay has also seen significant adjustments. Bugs affecting mini-games like bamboo chop and Zeni Hajiki have been resolved, along with issues in duels, stealth kills, and mission progression. Camera behavior during combat and exploration has been refined to improve fluidity, while balance changes to weapons, charms, and enemy encounters promise a more polished experience, especially on higher difficulties.
The patch also enhances photo mode, a fan-favourite feature, by adding new stamps and environmental particles such as native Hokkaido birds. Sony has encouraged players to install the update immediately to Version 1.006, especially disc owners who will need to patch the game before diving in.
