Players are still finding new things in the game, and the latest one is all about the easter eggs regarding a remake that has long been rumoured. Yes, I’m talking about Code Veronica. Easter eggs in Resident Evil Requiem

A user on X mentioned how a wine bottle in the game reads ‘Avernico’. Nothing special, right? Well that is until you figure out that the same letters also spell out Veronica. Now that’s something.

The user’s tweet reads, “In the bar lounge in Rhodes Hill there’s this suspicious bottle, AVERNICO. if you unscramble this word it spells out… VERONICA. i wonder what’s next for Resident Evil.”

Another easter egg was shared by a fan account on X. The post mentioned that the Wrenwood Hotel’s register mentions Veronica’s name which could again be a reference of what lies in store next. The tweet read, “Thanks to photo mode, Wrenwood’s “hotel register” can be read more clearly, revealing Alyssa wasn’t only the last guest, but also the “9th”, which matches the title’s number. Also, one guest’s name is “Veronica”, which adds up to the list of “references” to CV in RE9.”

Now we all know about Capcom’s love for hiding easter eggs for long-time players of the franchise. There are plenty of other references from other titles in Resident Evil Requiem. Now whether reports of Code Veronica being the next remake come true, time will tell.

Resident Evil Requiem story expansion confirmed

While Code Veronica remake is yet to be confirmed, what we know for sure is that Resident Evil Requiem is set to get a story expansion soon. Koshi Nakanishi, the game’s director, shared the news in a video message. He revealed that the development team is already working on additional story content that will explore the world of Requiem in greater detail.

While the expansion has been confirmed, Capcom did not reveal a release date yet. According to the director, the DLC will take some time before it is ready. He also asked fans to be patient.
