A couple of days back, Rockstar had confirmed that one of its most iconic games, Red Dead Redemption, will launch on iOS and Android on December 2. And now, the game is available to play if you have an active Netflix subscription. This isn’t a cloud version or cut-down mobile port, but it is a full, complete edition of the games. Moreover, it includes all single-player content and the bonus material from the Game of the Year release.
Members can download and play the mobile version as part of their subscription, without any additional charges. That means anyone with a Netflix account can take Marston’s long, emotional journey on the go, complete with mobile-friendly controls designed specifically for touch devices. Non-subscribers will still be able to buy the games individually via the App Store or Google Play.

If you haven’t yet downloaded Netflix on your phone, this is the time to get the app. Once you download the Netflix app on your device, open it and login. Then, locate the mobile games menu and you should see Red Dead Redemption’s familiar icon. Since the game has just been added, it will appear as soon as you login to the app. Simply click on the icon, and select Get Game.
Once this is done, the game will automatically install on your phone. You will even get a separate icon which you can just tap on to play the game without needing to open to Netflix app again and again.
Alongside mobile, Rockstar has also released enhanced editions of Red Dead Redemption for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. Current-gen players can expect smoother 60 fps performance, HDR, sharper image quality and resolutions up to 4K. Switch 2 owners get the same framerate target with DLSS support, HDR and even optional mouse controls for a more flexible setup.
The upgrades are free for anyone who already owns the PS4 version, the original Switch release or the digital Xbox One edition. Save data carries over too, so long-time fans can pick up right where they left off without starting fresh. These new versions have also joined the GTA+ Games Library and the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog.
Red Dead Redemption arriving on mobile, subscriptions and new hardware at the same time feels like a rare moment where Rockstar is opening the gates to more players than ever. Whether you want the big-screen frontier or the pocket version for late-night sessions, Marston’s story is about to find a brand new audience.
