Microsoft confirms: No Alan Wake for the PC

Updated on 14-Feb-2010

So. It’s official. There will be no Alan Wake for the PC.

At least not for a few years, if Microsoft’s past record is any indication. We still recall that wonderful Intel demo wherein Alan Wake was used to show off Intel’s processor prowess. Alas, Alan Wake will sleep with the fishes on the PC platform, concrete boots and all…

The reason? Read on and try not to laugh: “Some games are more suited for the intimacy of the PC, and others are best played from the couch in front of a larger TV screen. We ultimately realised that the most compelling way to experience Alan Wake was on the Xbox 360 platform, so we focused on making it an Xbox 360 exclusive. Both Microsoft and Remedy have long histories in PC game development. This decision was about matching this specific game to the right platform.” said a Microsoft spokesperson.

The real reason? Microsoft hates us PC gamers.
