Garena has launched the Free Fire India (FFI) survival shooter game in the country. This comes after the gaming company announced that the title will be released for mobile players in India on October 28. Apart from the new features and enhancements, the revamped title debuts with parental controls, time limits and spending restrictions. It will be available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store for Android and iPhone users. If you were eagerly awaiting the game’s release, here are the details that you should know.

Free Fire India: Download size

Garena Free Fire India’s Android version of FFI has a download size of 390MB on the Google Play Store. However, this size may increase further with additional modules. The “1.134.1” version requires Android 5.0 or later and is “rated for 12+” age group due to “moderate violence”.

Free Fire India: Features

Garena confirmed earlier that FFI will offer “locally relevant content” and is optimised for a wide range of mobile specifications. On iPhones, it will be available to download via the Apple App Store. The game offers India-specific content inspired by its diverse culture, such as a Diwali event running till November 15. Further, the Indian version will not have the red blood effects and will have less stimulating graphics. “Each 10-minute game places you on a remote island where you are pit against 49 other players, all seeking survival,” Garena said.

As for the restrictions, the game has parental controls. These include parent/guardian consent and phone number verification for users below 18 before creating a new account. While 18+ can play FFI for six hours per day, under-18 players can enjoy the game for only three hours.

Plus, Free Fire India gets break reminder notifications at regular intervals and playtime limits, which will lock the game for a certain period until the timer resets. Further, FFI will also have a cap on spending, Free Fire India’s official press note said.

Meanwhile, Garena offers the Free Fire MAX gaming title for mobile users in the country. For context, Garena Free Fire was banned by the Indian government in 2022, citing national security and data privacy concerns. The comeback is good news for the Free Fire fanbase, as they can enjoy the multiplayer again.
