BGMI’s 4.0 update released a couple of days back and players have been enjoying some new features and a brand new theme ever since. One of the key additions as part of the update was the India-inspired Stepwell POI. Inspired from ancient Indian architecture, the Stepwell is a new POI that players have been exploring. The update also includes the brand new Dive Master achievement which can be unlocked in Stepwell. While it sounds simple on paper, things could get complicated for new players real quick. Here is how you can master the Dive Master achievement in BGMI.

To get the Dive Master achievement, players need to complete five clean dives into the Stepwell’s water zone in a single Classic match. But like most things in BGMI, the reality is a little more complicated, with survival, timing, and planning all playing a big role in whether you walk away with the badge or leave empty-handed.
The first hurdle is finding the Stepwell itself. This is not a location that shows up on every map. Instead, it appears selectively and is marked with a special landmark icon. Even when you do manage to spot it, competition is almost guaranteed. The Stepwell stands out with its distinctive design: a vertical shaft that drops deep into the earth, a spiral staircase hugging the walls, and a glimmering pool of water at the bottom. It is both a challenge arena and, for those who manage to master it, a shortcut to bragging rights in BGMI 4.0.
Once you locate the Stepwell, the mission itself requires precision and patience. To unlock the Dive Master achievement, you’ll need to follow these three steps:
Step 1: Plan your flight path in advance to make sure you land close to Stepwell. Then, use the staircase or nearby climbable points to get yourself into diving position.
Step 2: Next step is jumping into the water: You need to ensure you land directly in the pool for each dive to count.
Step 3: Now you need to repeat the process five times as all dives must be completed within a single Classic match.
This may sound straightforward, but staying alive long enough to complete all five dives is the real challenge. If you’re eliminated or leave the match early, your progress resets. That’s why seasoned players recommend a few strategies to make the attempt smoother.
Landing early and claiming the Stepwell before rival squads arrive is crucial. Smokes can buy you precious seconds if enemies are nearby, while eliminating threats in the vicinity ensures you won’t be interrupted mid-dive. Since this challenge doesn’t require heavy looting, travelling light helps you move faster and focus entirely on positioning.
Beyond the thrill of pulling it off, completing the Dive Master achievement also rewards players with achievement points and counts towards seasonal milestones linked to BGMI 4.0. These milestones are becoming increasingly important for progression and in-game unlocks, making even niche missions like this a valuable part of the grind.
