Every gamer would agree that Assassin’s Creed Black Flag is one of those rare classics that truly deserves a remake, giving a new generation the chance to experience its epic story. And for a long time, the internet has been talking about the game’s remake even though it hasn’t been made official by Ubisoft. Now, the remake looks even closer to being a reality thanks to a PEGI listing spotted by fans. The listing not only dropped a strong hint that the game might indeed be in the works, but also reportedly revealed its title. Read on to know more.

According to multiple reports, European ratings board PEGI quietly published a listing for a title named Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.
The PEGI entry also listed the game as rated 18 for violence and bad language, but the detail that raised the most eyebrows was the mention of in-game purchases. The original 2013 release did not include an in-game store, and players are speculating that this remake could introduce microtransactions or cosmetic bundles through the franchise’s Animus Hub. It also raises the question of whether a new DLC is planned, or if the acclaimed Freedom Cry expansion could be reworked for the modern version.
Just two weeks ago, a Reddit user had also spotted evidence of the “Resynced” subtitle, which the new PEGI listing now validates.
It is also worth mentioning that the listing arrives shortly after Ubisoft’s recent financial report, where the publisher confirmed that an unannounce* game is due before the end of March 2026. Insider Gaming later claimed this mystery title is indeed the Black Flag remake. The portal also reported that the game is expected to launch around March 23, 2026. If this is true, we might actually get to play the game before getting GTA VI.
Fans have also been keeping an eye over recent content from Assassin’s Creed Shadows, convinced that Ubisoft may be teasing the remake through subtle nods. This, combined with repeated hints from the original Black Flag lead actor, speculation has only intensified.
With The Game Awards around the corner, many also believe that Ubisoft may finally decide to stop dodging the obvious and reveal Black Flag Resynced on stage. The event will be streamed live across the world and in India, you can watch it at 5:30 am on Friday (December 12).
