What’s new

The biggest hardware change is the redesigned woofer in the Galaxy Buds4 Pro. Compared to the previous generation, Samsung claims a measurable increase in effective speaker area without compromising fit. This is said to improve bass depth and overall sound balance.

The 40kHz frequency ceiling suggests the Buds4 series can reproduce higher treble than standard Bluetooth earbuds, which typically cap at 20kHz. While the human ear may not perceive the full 40kHz range directly, higher bandwidth often indicates better clarity and reduced distortion. We will have to test this to be sure.

The support for 24-bit/96kHz audio means improved detail retrieval in compatible tracks, especially when paired with supported Galaxy smartphones and high-quality streaming sources.

Design-wise, the smaller earbud heads and a more stable stem are intended to reduce fatigue during long listening sessions. The new transparent clamshell charging case adds a distinct visual identity, differentiating it from the previous generation.

AI integration has also expanded. Users can trigger assistants such as Bixby, Google Gemini and Perplexity hands-free. Head Gesture support on the Pro model allows call management without touching the phone, signalling Samsung’s push towards more ambient, context-aware interaction.
