Nothing has officially confirmed that the Headphone (a) will launch globally in March, alongside the Phone (4a). It announced this via the company’s official X.com handle, and also teased a new dual-tone design, signalling a stylistic shift from the Nothing Headphone (1). A report earlier this month claimed the Nothing Headphone (a) could come in multiple colours. And the upcoming headphones is also expected to be a more affordable option than last year’s Headphone (1). So, this could appeal to those wanting a distinct-looking over-ear design at a lower price point. Here is everything we know:
In the teaser, we can see a close-up image of the Headphone (a) revealing a contrasting dual-tone finish. It has a textured outer shell and a bold inner colour accent. In the image, the inner colour is yellow.
From a DealLabs report, the headphones pair could come in Black, Pink, White, and Yellow.

And as already mentioned, it is expected to be a more accessible alternative to the Headphone (1). The naming convention suggests the product will follow Nothing’s existing ‘a’ series strategy, which the company uses for more affordable versions of its core devices. In its smartphone portfolio, ‘a’ models typically retain core design identity while trimming select premium features to achieve a lower price.
The teaser image does not confirm specifications or details to substantiate this, though.
Nothing’s first over-ear model, the Headphone (1), launched last year as a design-led premium product. It features 40mm dynamic drivers tuned by KEF, up to 42dB active noise cancellation, LDAC support, dual-device connectivity, and up to 80 hours of battery life without ANC. In India, it debuted at Rs 21,999.
The Headphone (a), meanwhile, is said to cost EUR 159 (about Rs 17,000) in Europe. The Headphone (1) debuted at EUR 299 (about Rs 32,000). The launch price will be lower, but how low, only time will tell.
By introducing a more affordable over-ear model, Nothing can reach more users, especially in price-sensitive markets like India and broaden its ecosystem strategy.
If the Headphone (a) follows the brand’s established formula, buyers can expect a stylish design with more colour choices this time around. You could also get reliable active noise cancellation (ANC). The March 5 event will reveal all details. If you are already considering a Nothing Headphone, you may wait to see what the newcomer brings.
