We have been invited by Realme to Belfast, Northern Ireland, to witness a special launch event of another big collaboration between a smartphone and cinema. This time, Realme has collaborated with the world of Westeros. With this collaboration, the Chinese brand has launched the latest Realme 15 Pro Game of Thrones Limited Edition smartphone at the official GOT studio. We reviewed the Realme 15 Pro (review) some time back, and while the design didn’t leave us with any complaints, this new limited edition has its own story to tell. You get vegan leather on the back along with golden Game of Thrones engravings. Not just that, but the leather back panel also changes colour through heat. So, if you are a hardcore fan of Game of Thrones, here’s everything that you need to know about this GOT limited-edition device.
Let’s start with what immediately catches your eye, the Dragonfire leather back. Now, it’s not just another fancy name, as I mentioned earlier, this is a colour-changing finish that shifts from black to fiery red when heated. You can literally “ignite” your phone using a warm touch or even a cup of hot water. For GOT fans, we can say it’s a neat visual metaphor for “Fire Cannot Kill a Dragon.” Yes, I know no one wants to pour warm water on their phones, but it is strangely fascinating. This also means that the Realme 15 Pro comes with IP68 and IP69 certifications. The effect feels premium and surprisingly well-executed, giving the phone a character of its own.
Next, there’s the 3D-engraved Dragon Claw deco around the camera module, and I think it’s quite loud. At the centre of the back panel, you also get an engraved House Targaryen sigil in golden colour, which can be a ‘wow’ element for some and ‘meh’ for some. If you ask me, I had a mixed feeling about it, but now it’s growing on me.
Realme also ships the phone in an elaborate collector’s box. Inside this box, we have an Iron Throne stand, King’s Hand pin for SIM ejection, scrolls, postcards, an 80-watt charger, and a black TPU case. It’s a bit much, but in a way that’ll make any Game of Thrones fan smile.
Now speaking of the smartphone, on the inside, this is still the same Realme 15 Pro. The same bright 144Hz AMOLED display, the same reliable 7000mAh battery, and the same Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chip that’s good for daily use, but hardcore gaming is not its thing.
The custom dual-themed UI is a nice touch, though. You can pick between the cool, icy tones of House Stark or the fiery red hues of House Targaryen, complete with wallpapers, icons, and animations to match.
At the end of the day, the Realme 15 Pro Game of Thrones Edition is not a phone for benchmarks. It is trying to win hearts, and for fans who have waited years for an official GOT collectible that’s actually usable, this might just do it. A phone for everyday users, yes, but also a little piece of Westeros you can carry around.
