OPPO F31 Pro+ and F31 Pro tested in India’s hottest place

Updated on 22-Sep-2025

It started with a simple question – can a mid-range smartphone keep its cool where even people struggle to? To find out, we joined Oppo on an adventure to one of India’s hottest places, Jaisalmer. Instead of labs and charts, the idea was to see if the brand-new OPPO F31 Pro+ and F31 Pro could actually survive the desert’s brutal heat, endless sand and sudden splashes.

From the very first unboxing at our hotel in the Golden City to long drives into the dunes, these two phones became constant companions. They weren’t just pocket gear; they were the only cameras, gaming consoles, and lifelines we carried into the desert. And what stood out wasn’t the glossy Oppo Glow finish or the slim profile, it was how confidently these devices handled Jaisalmer’s unforgiving extremes.

Check it out for yourself:

The real test was the heat in Jaisalmer, which hits 40°C easily, and electronics usually give up. But the F31 Pro+ with Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 and the Pro with Dimensity 7300 Energy kept things smooth. Even when our FLIR thermal cam showed the surface climbing above 40°, there was no stutter, no lag.

Golden hour over Jaisalmer is a dream, but also a nightmare if your camera can’t balance highlights and shadows. The F31 Pro series’ 50MP OIS main camera nailed portraits at sunset, pulled detail from distant camel riders at 10x zoom, and delivered clean low-light video around campfires.

Jaisalmer’s dunes are notorious for patchy coverage, but the F31 series pulled ahead with its Hunter Antenna Architecture. With 91.6% coverage around the frame and Oppo’s S1 chip, calls stayed steady and videos streamed without the dreaded buffering wheel.

So, after two days in India’s hottest place, we learned that the Oppo F31 Pro+ and F31 Pro are mid-range phones with flagship resilience. They stayed smooth in heat, shrugged off dust and water, delivered reliable cameras, and packed a battery that simply didn’t quit.

And beyond specs, what impressed us most was consistency. Oppo promises 72-month smoothness protection, and after watching these devices hold up in the desert, we believe it.
