Just a few hours ago, Apple launched the iPhone 17 series globally. The new lineup is a little different this time, featuring a new ‘Air’ model. Apple has replaced the ‘Plus’ model with the new iPhone 17 Air, which is significantly slim and lightweight. Along with that, there are iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. In this story, we are going to talk about the iPhone 17 Pro and how it compares with the latest Pixel 10 Pro, based on specifications. Whether you are an Apple fan or a Pixel head, here is iPhone 17 Pro vs Pixel 10 Pro for you!
Starting with their displays, the iPhone 17 Pro is equipped with a 6.3-inch LTPO OLED panel that supports a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10 and Dolby Vision support. It has a claimed peak brightness of 3000 nits and is protected with Ceramic Shield 2 glass. The Pixel 10 Pro, on the other hand, features a 6.3-inch LTPO OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. It claims a peak brightness of 3300 nits.
Both the iPhone 17 Pro and the Pixel 10 Pro feature a glass front and back. The Apple phone gets a titanium frame, and the Google phone has an aluminium frame. Both phones have a similar-looking yet distinct design, thanks to their camera islands. While Apple has changed the rear panel design a little compared to last year, the Pixel 10 Pro closely resembles its predecessor. Speaking of predecessors, the iPhone 16 Pro still carries the Camera Control button, which honestly, I didn’t find myself using in my entire year with the iPhone 16 and 16 Pro Max. On the protection front, both get an IP68 rating.
The iPhone 17 Pro comes in three colours- Deep Blue, Shield, and a brand new Cosmic Orange. I am too sleepy right now to decide if I like that colour or not, we shall talk about it later. Pixel 10 Pro, on the other hand, has four colour options – Moonstone, Jade, Porcelain, and Obsidian.
On the performance front, the newly launched iPhone 17 Pro runs on the A19 Pro chipset and is available in 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and, for the first time, 2TB storage variants. The Pixel competitor runs on the Tensor G5 chipset and has a single 16GB + 256GB variant. On the software front, Apple has the new iOS 26 with improved Apple Intelligence, and Google has Android 16 with Gemini-based Google AI.
The iPhone 17 Pro gets the biggest battery ever on an iPhone; the exact number, however, is not known yet. Apple is claiming that you will get 33 hours of video playback and 4 more hours per full charge compared to the iPhone 15 Pro Max. The Pixel 10 Pro, however, packs a 4870 mAh cell, and Google claims 24 hours+ on a single full charge.
Lastly, cameras. This time around, Apple is offering a triple rear camera set-up with all three 48-megapixel lenses (primary, telephoto, and ultrawide) and 8x optical zoom. The Pixel 10 Pro also has a triple camera set-up with a 50-megapixel main camera, 48-megapixel ultrawide, and 48-megapixel periscope telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom. How do these cameras stand against each other in real-world tests? Stay tuned to our social media channels to find out.
At the end of the day, the iPhone 17 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro are shaping up to be two of the most powerful flagships of the year, each with its own strengths. Apple is doubling down on premium build, storage options, and its new A19 Pro chip, while Google is betting big on AI smarts with Gemini and its refined camera system. On paper, the battle is closer than ever, but the real verdict will come down to user experience, especially in performance, battery life, and those all-important cameras when we bring out both in the Digit Test Labs. Until then, whether you’re Team iPhone or Team Pixel, it’s safe to say 2025’s flagship war is on!
