I recently moved to a new house in Gurgaon, and the house has a borewell as the water source. While we were initially buying bottled water, I decided to invest in a water purifier. Now, while buying one, you need to consider a lot of factors. For starters, the water source is a key factor, based on which you have to choose the purifier’s maximum TDS level. Even if your municipality treats the water sent to your place, a purifier can offer additional purification. And RO (Reverse Osmosis) specifically is a technology that can remove dissolved solids/ salts from water. If it is coupled with UV and UF, then the purifier can kill bacteria, viruses, and remove contaminant particles.
We have not tested any of the purifiers in this list ourselves. These are the top-ranked models from Amazon under Rs 20,000 at the time of writing, and we have pulled specs and features from each brand’s official product pages and Amazon listings. They are arranged in descending order of price.

The Pureit Revito Prime claims up to 70% of the input water is retained as purified output, which is among the highest in this segment. This means significantly less water goes down the drain each day, which adds up over months of use.
The tank capacity is 8 litres, made from food-grade plastic. It is said to pure water at 28 litres per hour, among the fastest in this list. The Revito Prime uses a 7-stage purification process: Pre-Sediment Filter, Pre-RO Carbon Filter, Mesh Filter, RO Membrane, Post Carbon Filter, Microfiltration (MF) Membrane, and UV-LED in-tank.
The in-tank UV-LED is worth noting separately: it periodically irradiates stored water inside the tank itself, reducing the risk of bacteria forming during storage. The RO membrane and components carry WQA (Water Quality Association) certification and are tested to NSF/ANSI 58 standards.
The system handles input TDS up to 2,000 ppm. Post-RO, the water passes through a mineral enrichment stage that adds calcium and magnesium back. This matters because RO strips out beneficial minerals along with contaminants, and the output water can be slightly acidic without a remineralisation stage.
The built-in Smartsense indicator system is meant to alert you 15 days before a filter is due for replacement. That’s an handy tool to have. There is no Wi-Fi or app connectivity.
The warranty is 1 year comprehensive on the product, excluding consumables. It comes with auto-flush and standard BIS compliance.

The Aquaguard Ritz Pro, made by Eureka Forbes, is the only purifier in this list with a 304-grade stainless steel storage tank. The steel tank has a lifetime warranty.
The tank holds 5 litres and a built-in zero-pressure pump is said to be capable in bringing in water in buildings with low or no incoming water pressure
Purification uses 9 stages combining RO, UV, and UF technologies, and as the first layer, you get Mega Sediment filter. The lattermost is said to remove dirt and particulates more thoroughly than standard pre-filters. It also comes with proprietary Titanium Duo filter that is meant to trap microplastics, pharmaceutical residues, and heavy metals. There is Post-RO mineralisation, too, which works via a 3-in-1 cartridge that infuses copper, calcium, and magnesium.
The filter life is rated at 2 years or 10,000 litres, provided the TDS in your region stays below 1,000 ppm.
The UV-LED used for in-tank sterilisation is mercury-free and rated for up to 10 years of operational life, which is well beyond the filter replacement cycle.
On the smart side, the Ritz Pro connects via Wi-Fi to the Eureka Forbes app and provides a 21-point device health check, real-time input and output TDS monitoring, filter life tracking, and a hydration monitor that logs daily, weekly, and monthly water consumption. You also get filter change alerts through the app.
The warranty is 1 year comprehensive. The unit is BIS compliant.

The Kent Grand Plus boasts zero water wastage technology that recirculates that water back to your overhead tank using a secondary internal pump. This is a good design aspect from a water conservation standpoint.
The tank holds 9 litres, which is the largest capacity here. It is built from food-grade ABS plastic, purification speed is rated at 20 litres per hour, and the system handles input TDS up to 2,000 ppm.
The purification process involves 5 stages: RO, UV, UF, TDS Control, and UV-in-tank. For mineralisation, it has a manually adjustable TDS control valve that allows a portion of UF-filtered water (which still retains natural minerals) to bypass the RO stage and blend with the RO-purified water.
The tank has a UV-LED which continuously sterilises stored water to prevent bacteria formation There is a water level indicator on the unit and an audible alert for filter replacement, but no Wi-Fi, no app connectivity, no auto-flush, and no digital TDS display.
Kent provides a 1-year comprehensive warranty plus 3 years of free service labour visits. The unit holds NSF International certification alongside ISI/BIS marks.

The Native M2 Pro from Urban Company sports filters with 2 years of life, and the unit comes with a 2-year unconditional warranty covering all filters, the RO membrane, and electrical components at zero service cost. After that 2-year period, you can get all filters, membrane filtered for Rs 5,000.
The tank capacity is 8 litres, made from food-grade olefin polymer, a material certified by the US FDA for food contact safety. The purifier handles input TDS up to 2500 ppm and the purification can be done at 20 litres per hour.
The Native purifier features a 10-stage process combining RO, UV, alkaline mineralisation, copper infusion, and a standard mineraliser. The system uses Smart Rinse Technology, which is an auto-flushing to periodically clean the filters and membrane. The UV module is present inside the tank for sterilisation of stored water.
The M2 Pro connects to the Urban Company app via 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and provides a 12-parameter real-time health check. This includes input and output TDS, filter health, and water consumption history.
On the body, there is a backlit touch-screen interface with preset dispensing modes for a glass, a bottle, or free-flow, with the ability to set custom volumes through the app. A retractable tray and a guide light for low-light use are included. A built-in battery backup allows water to be dispensed from the tank during power cuts.
Certifications include US FDA material compliance, ISO 9001:2015 (HACCP-certified manufacturing), and IAPMO testing and standard BIS compliance.

The Livpure Lotier is the AIoT-enabled model in Livpure’s current lineup and the brand’s closest equivalent to the Native M2 Pro in terms of smart features. Its main selling points are a 10-stage purification process, Wi-Fi connectivity, and a 2.5-year (30-month) warranty that covers all filters, the RO membrane, and electrical parts at no service cost.
The tank is 6.5 litres, made from food-grade plastic. This is the smallest tank in the list, though it suits a standard urban family of three to four. Purification speed is 15 litres per hour. The system handles input TDS up to 2,000 ppm. You get a standard BIS compliance, food-grade materials, auto-start, auto-shutoff, and overflow protection.
The 10 purification stages are: Super Sediment Filter, Particulate Filter, Activated Carbon, Anti-Scalant Cartridge, RO Membrane, Mineraliser, Alkaline Filter, Copper Infusion, UF Membrane, and In-Tank UV-LED Sterilisation. The anti-scalant cartridge helps in protecting the membrane from hard water deposits. After RO, the water is remineralised and alkaline-balanced, and copper is infused through a dedicated cartridge.
The unit connects via Wi-Fi to the Livpure Smart App, which provides real-time input and output TDS tracking, filter life monitoring, and purifier health status. A physical TDS display is also built into the unit itself. On the front of the device, there are LED indicators to show power status, purification status, UV sterilisation activity, and tank level.
You get 30-month warranty for all filters and membranes, labour, and electrical parts. After that period, Livpure AMC plans are available.
Before buying a water purifier, it is better to factor in your source water quality, your household’s daily consumption volume, and how much you are prepared to spend on maintenance in the years after purchase.
