Lenovo announced the Vibe K5 Plus and the K5 at MWC 2016 earlier this year. Now, the company has brought the Vibe K5 Plus in India. Priced at Rs. 8,499, the phone seems to be a very good proposition in the sub-10K smartphone segment. Here is a quick look at the device.

Before we go any further, here is a look at the specification sheet of Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus
Display: 5-inch, 1080p
SoC: Qualcomm Snapdragon 616
Camera: 13MP, 5MP
OS: Android 5.1
Price: Rs. 8,499
The Vibe K5 has similar specifications, but the display resolution is just 1280 x 720p and instead of the Snapdragon 616, it uses the Snapdragon 415.
While every other phone launched at MWC ran on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the new Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop.
Lenovo is still using its Vibe UI on top of Android Lollipop. The bloatware has been reduced but we would have preferred a cleaner interface, like the one we saw on the Vibe X3.
The 5-inch 1080p display has 178 degree viewing angle and the colour saturation seems good.
Above the 5-inch display, the phone has a 5MP front-facing camera, which should be enough to take selfies.
The three navigation keys are not on-screen buttons and are not backlit.
Along the edges, you will see that the right edge has the volume rocker as well as power button. You will also notice a thin chrome band running along the front of the phone, which adds to the phone’s metal design.
The micro-USB port, as well as the headphone jack, are placed at the top of the phone. Other connectivity features include Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi and 4G LTE connectivity.
The Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus offers a 13MP rear camera, which is aided by a single LED flash. It is using an Omnivision OV13850 sensor.
The Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus has a metal body with two speakers at the back that support Dolby Atmos technology. The 2750mAh battery is user replacable and the back is removable.
