Coolpad is the latest entrant in the Indian smartphone market. The company has come down from China with two of its phones, the Dazen X7 and the Dazen 1. While the Dazen X7 brings a premium design and mid-range specs to the table, the Dazen 1 is meant for the budget segment. We take a quick look of both the phones before they go under our rigorous review drill.
This is the Coolpad Dazen X7. It brings a rather premium design and mid range specs at a price of Rs. 17,999.
The phone features a glass front and back and a metal band all around the edges.
The 5.2-inch phone features a 1080p AMOLED display which is covered in Gorilla Glass 3 and looks quite sharp.
Above the display, the phone has its earpiece, sensor and an 8MP front-facing camera.
Since the entire phone has a metal and glass build, there are plastic bands on the top and bottom edges to accommodate antennas. The phone supports 4G bands.
The back is also glass which adds to the premium design of the phone.
The Dazen X7 has a 13MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash. It has a f/1.8 aperture and an optical image stabilizer.
On the left side, the phone has its volume rocker.
While on the right side, it has its power button and dual-SIM slots. One of the SIM slots also works as a microSD card slot if required.
At the bottom one can see the speaker grill but don’t be fooled by the double grills. The speaker is under the right side speaker grill only.
This is the Dazon 1. This is the budget segment offering from Coolpad. It is priced at Rs. 6,999.
