CES 2016, one of the biggest electronics show, will commence in less than a week. The grand event will host a number of product launches and announcements, from mobile phones to smart devices which will automate your future. Here is a quick look at gadgets that are expected to hit the headlines at CES 2016.
The Korean phone maker is expected to introduce the third phone under its Flex series, at CES 2016. The LG Flex 3 might run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, with 4GB of RAM, 32/64/128GB storage options, 6-inch 4K display and a 17MP rear camera.
Samsung may not announce the Galaxy S7 at CES, but various rumours have suggested that the company might showcase the phone there. Apart from the Galaxy S7, we also expect the Galaxy A9 to unveiled at the event.
While we don’t think CES will see any of the Xperia Z6 family members, there is a chance that we might just see the Xperia Z5 Ultra. The phone is expected to have a large 6.44-inch 4K display.
With the Nubia Z11, ZTE is expected to join the long list of phone manufacturers equipping latest generation devices with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 SoC. The phone is expected to bring a “bezel-less” display to the table.
Asus is likely to announce the Zenfone 3 at CES, finally bringing about a change in its phones’ names. We are also expecting other devices from Asus, like laptops and gaming peripherals.
Laptops and PCs
After the launch of Windows 10, this will be a major event for laptop manufacturers, and it will be no surprise if many new laptops and PCs are announced or launched at CES.
Sony, Samsung, Panasonic and LG are all expected to showcase new, slimmer TVs at CES. We also expect companies to showcase bigger TVs with 8K resolutions. A lot of home audio and entertainment systems are also expected, from various companies.
AR and VR
Sony and Oculus are likely to introduce commercial versions of respective virtual reality headsets. Other smaller companies like Cast AR and Ion VR will be marking their presence at CES 2016, too.
Like it or not, wearables are here to stay, and should see plenty of wearable gadgets at CES. Some would just relay notifications, while others will be over-the-top smartphones strapped to your wrists. Nevertheless, there will be plenty.
PS: Don’t forget fitness trackers, too.
IOT and Home Automation
Our future will be connected, and like every year, we will inch towards a more connected living. This year, we expect to see connected speakers, TVs, refrigerators and washing machines, along with a few other bizarre connected devices.
The automobile industry will be a major part of CES this year, with Chevrolet’s Bolt EV likely to catch a lot of eyeballs. Chevrolet has shown this car earlier at the Detroit Motor Show. We may also see other car manufacturers joining the green bandwagon at the show.
Both Ford and Kia are expected to bring autonomous vehicles at CES 2016. While Ford is widely expected to partner with Google to create self-driving cars, Kia is developing the technology themselves.
