Best gaming laptops for 1080p gaming under Rs. 1 lakh

By Hardik Singh | Updated 31 Mar 2017

GPUs on laptops are easy to find, but not every one of them can run graphic intensive games like GTA V. To make things tougher, many of us gamers want 1080p rendering to boot, which further reduces our options. You could of course build a gaming PC, but that would mean you can't play on the move. So, you're left with gaming laptops, and here are the ones that qualify.

There are five laptops in this list, and we're picking only the best. Say, a laptop that can run Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, at 1080p? You get the drift...

HP Omen - AX249TX
Price: Rs. 99,990

HP’s latest gaming lineup is not just priced well, but offers the best hardware in sub-1 lakh category. This mighty machine is the most powerful laptop in this budget, which can handle 1080p gaming. It has the latest Intel 7th Gen i5-7300HQ processor, coupled with a 4GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050Ti GPU. It houses 16GB of DDR4 RAM, you get a 1TB 7200 RPM HDD, and a 128GB SSD.

The laptop comes with a 15.6-inch matte IPS display, which offers good viewing angles and you also get a full backlit keyboard.

Price: Rs. 89,000 (approx)

The MSI GL62M 7RD is a good laptop, offering a better processor than the Omen, but a less powerful GPU instead. So, it is powered by an Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor and a 2GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 GPU. You get a standard 1TB 7200RPM HDD for storage and combined with the 15.6-inch 1080p display, this is good enough for Overwatch and Dota 2 alike.

Asus ROG G Series GL552VW
Price: Rs. 93,000 (approx)

This is a full fledged gaming laptop made for 1080p gaming. It is inexpensive, and has the Intel 6700HQ, along with the 4GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M, which is as powerful as the newer 1050 GPUs. The 16GB DDR4 RAM matches the Omen laptop and will offer more headroom if you intend to do some video encoding. That said, we played Call of Duty and the new Doom on it, albeit at medium settings.

Dell Inspiron 15 7559

The Inspiron 15 7559 is of course not part of Dell's Alienware gaming line, but offers gaming oriented hardware. It has the Intel 6700HQ processor, coupled with a 4GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M GPU. However, Dell has equipped this laptop with a large 6-cell 74 Whr battery.

Note: An updated version of this laptop will be launching soon.

Asus FX553VD
Price: Rs. 72,000 (approx)

The Asus FX553D is a good replacement for the old R510JX from Asus and is as powerful as the MSI GL62 we mentioned earlier, but it does not come with Windows 10. Now, it does come with a new OS called Endless OS, but you can easily replace that. At its price, this is one of the most affordable gaming machines you can buy today. It features a Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor, 8GB DDR4 RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 and a 15.6inch display. A 1TB HDD is available on-board for storage and you can add an SSD if you like.
