If you like open world first person shooters, you are bound to love the Far Cry franchise. The latest addition to the series, Far Cry 4 takes everything from older versions and amplifies them, while adding a touch of its own as well. The game takes you to the fictional land of Kyrat set in the Himalayan mountains and puts you right in the middle of an ongoing civil-war. We've been playing this game for a while now and after about 80 odd hours, we've still not had enough. Nevertheless, here are seven epic moments that we had in Far Cry 4.
Bell Towers have been a part of older Far Cry games as well, but nothing quite beats the view you get in the Himalayan setting. Climbing up gives a very Assassin's Creed like feel, minus the Parkour, and once you reach the top and the view is worth admiring once you reach the top.
These little personal helicopters (Skycopters) are perhaps the most useful means of transportation in Far Cry 4. The map is incredibly vast and they cut the travel times by a lot. Not to mention, they're perfect to ride with a grenade launcher in one hand.
An Eagle attacked me while I escaped a charging Rhino..
Animals play a very big role in Far Cry 4. Not only do you use their skins for crafting useful things, you have to constantly watch out for the ones that attack you. Rhinos and Bears can kill you within minutes and you won't even know what hit you. Animals in this game often keep you on your toes, even while you're sneaking up on enemies.
Riding an elephant..
Yes, it's somewhat of a stereotype that a game set in India lets you ride elephants. It's fun though. Not only can you ride them, you can make them charge at enemies or throw them far away, all the while sitting atop the creature. It's not the stealthiest or the fastest way, but it's great fun.
Drive off a cliff and fly off a car..
Being an open world game, Far Cry 4 allows you to drive anywhere you want. This includes driving off the many cliffs within the Himalayan ranges. Once you do that though, make sure you put on your Winsuit and fly out of the car. It's not the newest things in games or in Far Cry, but you'll do it often enough, just for fun.
The other worldly experience..
The surreal alternate reality experience in Far Cry 4, known as Shangri La, is often more fun than the story itself. It provides the perfect supernatural setting and has you fighting demons, with a White Tiger to aid you. Each mission makes you want to play the next one and the Hindi monologue that continues in the background makes it feel that much better.
The mythical land of Kyrat has a number of temples that you would want to explore, even if only to enjoy how good they look.
