It's that time of the year again, it's time to celebrate the feast of Saint Valentine. So, how exactly does tech figure into it? Well, search for V-Day on the Play Store and you'll have your answer. Google, Apple and Microsoft's app stores can be very useful in planning a successful Valentine's Day. Tinder may have got you a date, but it's up to you to keep the spark alive. These apps will help you do so.
B612
Let's start with the obvious shall we? Selfies. You will most likely be taking a lot of selfies on Valentine's Day and B612 is an app made just for that. The app gives you a bunch of filters and effects to make your selfies look better.
Retrica
If the filters on B612 weren't enough, check out Retrica. This app adds filters and effects to both the front and rear cameras. We would go with this one, but the choice is yours, of course.
Between
This app is designed specifically for you and your significant other. It establishes a secure communication channel between you and your special friend, for sharing messages, images etc.
Couple
An alternative to Between, this app does pretty much the same things as Between. Couple looks a little better than Between though.
HeyTell
If you're looking to share voice messages with your significant other, HeyTell is a good way to do so securely. This one's especially useful if you live in different cities.
Vee
Now everyone knows about Tinder, but if that hasn't got you a date yet, maybe this homeegrown app will help. It follows the same logic as Tinder, but adds a lot more features to it. Vee could be your last minute saviour this Valentine's Day. Vee claims to offer a lot of privacy features and employs enough checks and verificaitons in a bid to ensure genuine connections.
BookMyShow
While you're doing all that chatting, you may as well plan what to do on Valentine's Day. Enter BookMyShow, arguably the best events lister in India right now.
InstaBounce
Our App of the Week from last week can also come in handy. InstaBounce is only useful for people in Delhi for now, but it can give you almost every V-Day event that is happening in town.
Groupon
Not much of a party/events person? No problem. You can then use Groupon to find some good deals for you and your special friend.
Travel
Now once you've chosen what to do, how do you get there? Try the Uber, Ola and TaxiForSure apps to get cabs that can drop you anywhere. Uber is desperately trying to gain back users, with special discounts, while Ola has that handy auto option. TaxiForSure is another pretty cheap option.
Zoomcars
If you don't want a stranger in the car with you, try Zoomcars instead. This one allows you rent luxury cars and drive them around town.
Zomato
Ok, you've attended events, driven around town and all that. You must be hungry now. The Zomato app will show you the nearest and best restaurants that you can go to, along with the ones that have V-Day offers.
iHeart Radio
After all that, you would want to come back home right? But there's still a lot to do. At home, you need music and iHeart Radio will have special Valentine's Day channels for that.
