Apart from showing off a dual-display laptop called the Honeycomb Glacier, Intel had a whole bunch of smart retail solutions to show at this year’s Computex. The first demo was made by Intel partner iBASE, a company that makes media players for indoor and outdoor signage. Some of the company’s media players can connect to up to 18 external monitors using HDMI. iBASE also offers an Acer-powered dashboard using which users can quickly type out what they want to show to their customers. Such a setup can easily be seen at places like an airport or a fast food joint. The iBASE media players are powered by an Intel Arria 10 SoC, which is a palm-sized chipset with a tight integration of a dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 MPCore CPU. It features a TSMC-made chipset made using a 20-nanometre process.
