Who doesn’t love to laugh, and what better way to have a blast than watching comedy movies? Funny movies can be an absolute treat, especially when you watch them with your friends and family. If you are looking to get your laugh this weekend, then here are 10 of the funniest movies on Netflix that you can watch now.

We start this comedy movies list with the masterclass Phir Hera Pheri. If you are looking for a laughter riot throughout a movie, there is hardly a movie that can beat this. Veteran director, Priyadarshan, has brought out the absolute best from Paresh Rawal, Akshay Kumar and Suneil Shetty. The non-stop situational comedy makes it one of the best Hindi comedy movies of all time.

This is a movie that falls into a unique genre of horror-comedy and does a terrific job in both departments. It makes you laugh during most parts of the movie but has enough moments that can scare the heck out of you. Stree can fall into the category of experimental film, but it sure came out with flying colours. The brilliant acting performances from Rajkumar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi and Shraddha Kapoor and the quirky plot make it a movie worth investing your time in.

If you haven’t seen this hilarious movie, then now is the time. The Hangover has all the potential to be considered a cult classic in the coming years. This 2009 flick stars Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianikis in the lead roles. The story revolves around a group of friends who get wasted during a bachelor party and wake up next morning with no memory whatsoever about what happened last night. It is definitely one of the best Hollywood comedy movies of all time, and you will have to watch it to know why.

Hands down one of the best comedies on Netflix, The Dictator has Sacha Baron Cohen as the titular character, and he has done an excellent job. It follows the journey of a dictator who wants to do things on his own terms and is quite stupid at it. The movie is more of a dark comedy, as it talks about serious socio-political issues in a twisted manner. It is filled with joke bombs that make you think about society and may even leave you red-faced. Mind you, it is an R-rated movie, and hence only viewers above the age of 18 years can watch it.

Marvel made comedy scenes in superhero movies a common thing, but DC took it to another level with Shazam and did a good job with it. The plot revolves around a kid who is abandoned at a fair and is in constant search of his mother. He grows up, and his life changes soon after he gets the superpowers of a powerful wizard. Zachary Levi has done a fantastic job, keeping you glued to your chair throughout the movie. Moreover, the high-octane action scenes and a thrilling plotline make it a complete entertainer. You won’t get bored even for a minute.

Rowan Atkinson may not be playing the role of Mr Bean in this movie, but he makes you laugh just as hard while playing a secret agent named Johnny English. A spy thriller with many sketches based on situational comedy is a deadly combination that will keep you intrigued throughout the movie’s run-time. The movie also involves many action scenes, which are funny in their own way, all of which make this movie a must-watch.

If you love The Rock and Kevin Hart, then you’ll love Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. The story follows a bunch of kids who enter the world of a board game. This world is set in a jungle, and the kids must play as different characters and try and meet all the goals defined by the game. On their way, they encounter a boy who has been lost in Jumanji for 20 years. This movie is quite funny, and guess what, it even has Jack Black! If you like slightly slapstick comedy, then this is the best movie for you.

Bridesmaids is one of the top comedy films on Netflix, starring an all-female cast. The story revolves around Annie, a baker who lost her bakery after the financial crisis of 2008, and her best friend, Lillian, who recently got engaged. Annie struggles to come to terms with the engagement and develops competitive feelings towards all the other bridesmaids, particularly Helen. What follows is a series of cringe situations, with each milestone in Lillian’s wedding ruined by Annie and her antics. Watch this for Kristen Wiigs’ stellar performance!

It would be unfair to make a list of best comedy movies on Netflix India and not include the Bollywood classic Andaz Apna Apna. This 1994 flick stars two of the biggest names in the industry, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan. While some say that the movie relies too much on slapstick comedy, one cannot deny it is an absolute riot. You will laugh till your stomach aches, and you might not be able to stop laughing even then!

Another gem of a movie from Bollywood when it comes to comedy, Chup Chup ke is one of those Bollywood movies that have comedy, drama, romance and more. However, the comedy scenes, especially in the first half, stick with you forever. You’ve probably heard your friends quoting the film in real life – that’s how iconic it is. The story revolves around a man in debt who tries to commit suicide by jumping in the sea but gets saved by fishermen. His life changes from there on after a series of comical events.
