SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 10 PLUS

  • Screen Size6.8" (1440 X 3040)
  • Camera12 + 16 + 12 + TOF | 10 MP
  • RAM12 GB
  • Battery4300 mAh

While the camera hardware mostly remained the same as the Galaxy S10, the Note 10 adds an extra camera on the back along with a ToF sensor for better augmented reality apps. The Galaxy Note 10 Plus is Samsung's best attempt at a smartphone camera yet, not because of the camera hardware. This doesn't have the typical 48MP camera that's there on the high-end and mid-rangers. Instead, Samsung tweaked the imaging algorithm, added a dedicated night mode and live focus in videos to provide a wide array of options while shooting. Features like zoom-in mic while shooting videos and an in-built full-fledged video editor will be quite useful for someone who uses their smartphone for vlogging and the likes. The Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ comes across as a phone very similar to the Galaxy S10+, save for a few new features that may or may not turn out to be useful. There’s a lot of reason for old Note users to upgrade to this one.

XIAOMI MI 10

  • Screen Size6.67" (1080 x 2340)
  • Camera108 + 13 + 2 + 2 | 20 MP
  • RAM8 GB
  • Battery4780 mAh

The Mi 10 is the first smartphone under Rs 50,000 to rock the 108MP camera sensor developed by Samsung’s imaging team. The sensor measures 1/1.33”, second only to the size of the custom sensor used in the Huawei P40 Pro+. The large sensor size accommodates more than a 100 million 0.8 micron pixels, which helps in achieving noise-free digital zoom and a fair amount of detail at 100% crop. The sensor also outputs 27MP photos by default by binning four neighbouring 0.8um pixels into a large 1.6um pixels, the same technology used in the previous 48MP and 64MP cameras. Aside from the 108MP camera, there camera setup is disappointingly average. There’s a 13MP ultrawide and two 2MP sensors for macro and portrait photos. Indeed, the final JPEG output is largely improved by the new Spectra ISP on the Snapdragon 865 which works in tandem with Xiaomi’s colour-boosting AI algorithm and HDR mode to produce photos that look highly palatable.

ONEPLUS 8

  • Screen Size6.55" (1080 x 2400)
  • Camera48 + 16 + 2 | 16 MP
  • RAM8 GB
  • Battery4300 mAh

OnePlus 8 remains an underachiever primarily in the camera department, but that’s not to say it comes with bad cameras. The OnePlus 8 features a 48MP camera that uses the ½-inch Sony IMX586 sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and support for OIS and EIS. This is followed by a 16MP ultra-wide-angle camera with a 116-degree field of view. It trades the telephoto lens from 7T for a 2MP macro camera instead and this is where things get a little confusing.

One thing that seals the Realme X3 SuperZoom’s fate as a camera-heavy flagship is its lowlight capabilities. It’s right now the only smartphone in India to boast of a dedicated astrophotography mode. • Screen Size6.44" (1080 x 2400)
  • Camera48 + 8 + 13 + 2 | 16 MP
  • RAM6 GB
  • Battery4370 mAh

The iQOO 3 5G goes big on performance and gaming, but its also a pretty decent camera smartphone bolstered by iQOO's reliable AI algorithm and high-res camera hardware. Photos from the iQOO 3 5G come out sharp with lots of details and with excellent dynamic range. We particularly enjoyed taking photos of close-up objects. The video mode is also quite reliable with no focus drop. However, the telephoto lens in the camera setup is a little faulty and shifts focus while you're trying to take the photo.
