Best HP AMD Ryzen Laptop

Updated on 14-Mar-2024

You’re already on the right path if you’re Googling “Best HP AMD Ryzen laptops.” The combination of HP and AMD Ryzen is a lethal one and the latest laptop I tested from the brand proves the same. HP AMD Ryzen laptops, at least in my experience, offer a great value for money, very good cooling capabilities, and, as of the latest generation, great build quality as well. These three things stay consistent across most HP AMD Ryzen gaming laptops, even if the device in question is an economical one. Now that you know why these laptops are great, here’s a list of all the HP AMD Ryzen gaming laptops that you can easily consider. Please note that these lists are in ascending order, with the most affordable one taking its position at the top. Each of these laptops represent the best one in their respective categories.

Operating System: Windows 11 Home
Display Size : 15.6
Processor : AMD Ryzen 5 5600H

This is one of the best budget gaming laptops you can buy right now. And when I say budget, I am talking about being as frugal as possible. This HP Victus 15.6-inch laptop costs Rs 51,990, at the time of writing this article. A few months ago I reviewed it and it has become even more affordable since then. The pairing of the HP’s cooling, AMD Ryzen 5 5600H and Radeon 6500M, which is more capable than Nvidia’s GTX 1650 and RTX 2050, are three major reasons to go for this laptop. Another HP Victus gaming laptop is available at Rs 57,000 with a newer AMD GPU and DDR5 RAM but I’d still not recommend that because it features a meagre Nvidia RTX 2050.

The HP 15s is a mainstream laptop with high processing power. That’s probably the easiest explanation I can give for the laptop. For the uninitiated, a mainstream laptop is a device which is focused on delivering consistent battery life and a reliable experience. However, with HP 15s performance and efficiency are both a given because the laptop has an AMD Ryzen 5 5700U APU, featuring an octa-core processor and a fairly capable Radeon iGPU. The “U” series tag also makes sure that the 5700U remains efficient while delivering power. Moreover, the laptop’s sleek design, well-fitted I/O port and a great keyboard and trackpad combo ensures that the HP 15s makes a great option.

Processor : AMD Ryzen 5-5600H

For many people the Radeon RX 6500M may not provide enough graphical power to get things going. However, the particular HP Victus 15.6 I am talking about comes with an Nvidia RTX 3050, which is more capable than the Radeon RX 6500M and also brings with it DLSS tech enabling even more performance in games. Do remember that the RTX 3050 is still an entry level card and therefore the laptop’s price also reflects the same. But as an overall package, this HP Victus 15.6 is a good option for the intended audience, i.e. those who want more power on a budget.

Looking for an HP AMD Ryzen laptop but focused on portability? The HP Pavilion Aero 13 is your best bet. The 13-inch, 990g thin and light laptop is one of the smallest, yet powerful, HP laptops you can buy at an affordable price. It easily slips into even the smallest of bags, leaving a ton of room for accessories or other stuff. It comes powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS, which features an 8-core and 16-thread processor, superfast 16GB LPDDR5 RAM, and a 1TB SSD. The 13.3-inch display is also very bright, has decent colour accuracy and good viewing angles as well. All of this makes the HP Pavilion Aero 13 a great AMD Ryzen powered product and an amazing thin and light laptop as well.

Operating System: Windows 11 Home
Display Size : 16.1
Resolution : 2560 x 1440
Processor : 5th Gen AMD Ryzen 7-5800H

This particular HP Victus is the previous generation one but it still offers really amazing value for money. Mainly because it comes with an AMD Ryzen 7 5800H octa-core processor and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 GPU with 6GB GDDR6 VRAM. The laptop comes with 16GB DDR4 memory but you can expand it to 32GB DDR4 as well. On top of that, the screen is a 16.1-inch QHD display which offers sharper visuals. Although the RTX 3060 has the same VRAM as the newer RTX 4050, in many games it still comes out on top.

Operating System: Windows 11 Home
Display Size : 16.1
Processor : AMD Ryzen 7- 6800H

The HP Omen 16.1 probably offers the best value for money as it features a powerful Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti paired with an AMD Ryzen 7 6800H, and DDR5 RAM. The best part is that this setup is available at a price of Rs 1.11 lakh, at the time of writing this article. In terms of storage the laptop gets 1TB SSD and in terms of display it gets a 16.1-inch QHD display with 300 nits of brightness and 165Hz refresh rate. Although you could get an RTX 4000 series GPU at this price point, it probably won’t be as good as the RTX 3070 Ti in terms of sheer performance.
