Kulveer Sharma, editor of Digit Hindi, received a plan on his MyVodafone prepaid account, detailing unlimited calls and 56GB data for validity period of 28 days and fair usage cap of 1GB per day. The plan, as of now, seems to be for prepaid users, the details of which is included in the image below.
Ever since Reliance Jio disrupted the telicom market with its data and voice plans, other telecom operators have been scurrying to cut data costs and introduce competitive data plans with bundled free calling. The new offer seems to be comparable to that of Reliance Jio's Prime Membership Offer, and even offers double of what Jio is presenting for its Prime members. Jio requires you to pay Rs. 303 for 1GB of data per day for 28 days, while Vodafone's Rs. 352 pack offers 1GB data every day for 28 days. There, however, seems to be some confusion, with Vodafone stating 1GB/day for 56 days on the offer title, and mentioning 28-day validity in the details.
With the details not being clear, we have reached out to Vodafone India for further explanation of the plan. It also remains to be seen which users are presented with this plan, and what are the specific criteria of eligibility. In a statement released so far to Digit, a Vodafone spokesperson has stated, "Vodafone customers are diverse as are their wants. To satisfy these diverse needs and wants, Vodafone offers various segmented propositions. This is one such segmented offering and the offer is valid to take-up only till 15 March." The company, however, is yet to explain the duration of validity of the plan.
